A New Month

Hard to believe it is already July.  All I can do is hope this month is not the washout June was.  Too bad we can't send all this rain to the super dry areas out west.

Tom and I recently had a bad experience with Papa John's Pizza.  They delivered a pizza to us that wasn't quite done.  Of course, you couldn't really tell until you got to eating it.  We both got sick. The next day I sent Papa John's Corporate a message about them delivering raw pizza, focusing more on the fact that they would not want their future customers getting sick, rather than on our situation. They immediately responded that the manager of the store we use would contact us within 3-5 days.  Nothing!  I called Corporate and let them know I had not heard anything.  They said they had spoken with the manager and he had sent us a coupon for a free pizza in the mail that week.  I told them we had received nothing so they were to speak with the manager again and he would call in 1-2 days.  Nothing!  Last night, while I was on FB, I went to their page and posted (maybe a bit tersely) what had happened. Corporate did respond to the message and this morning the manager of the store called.  Again, I was not upset, only concerned about the possibility of giving customers food poisoning, wanting them to be aware of the issue.  He apologized and said he planned to talk with all of his staff about cooking the pizzas right, as well as talk specifically to those who were working the night we ordered our pizza. He told me that he would give us our next 2 pizzas free - including no delivery charge.  We couldn't do this on-line, but to call in the order and use his name. He also said he would be sending us a coupon for a free pizza.  What a nice surprise. Now all that remains to be seen is if we actually get all these things.  I hope so as we like the pizza and usually order a couple of times a month.  I'll let you know what happens with our next order.

I don't know how much time I will have this month to post thoughts or experiences.  I will have 2 different house guests in one week, my brother is coming to town to visit, and we will be taking Tom's sister on a cruise. I am excited about all of it, but my computer time will be limited not only while everyone is here, but also as I get ready for our trip.

In the meantime, have pleasant days and enjoy your life.
